::: Florida Highwaymen :::

American Artists, collectively known as the Florida Highwaymen, started creating art in the mid-1950s in Florida and painted over 200,000 landscape artworks. Due to discrimination, they were forced to use materials found in hardware stores to paint and sell their paintings along the Florida highway.

Fifth grade students studied their artwork and color techniques. We used materials like watercolor pencils and palettes to blend vibrant colors. Everyone created beautiful tropical art!
