::: Winter Color Study :::
Fourth graders finished their color and painting unit with a Winter landscape featuring Birch trees. We started with color mixing and creating a color wheel to test our watercolor paints. Next, we mixed neutrals using the complementary color pairs. Then, we started our Birch tree backgrounds with oil pastels, watercolors and salt. We discussed how space is separated in a landscape composition while we added trees to the middle ground and Birch trees to the foreground. The artworks are finished with painted shadows and spatter paint snow. Great job 4th grade!
