<<>> ❄️ Winter Printmaking with 4th & 5th ❄️ <<>>
I have always wanted to try printing white ink on a contrasting darker paper. In December, 4th and 5th grade tried this technique with winter printmaking. First, they each designed a unique foam stamp. We used foam dots to make a fun snow effect. Next, they printed with white ink on black, blue or purple paper. Finally, we switched to white paper and color ink for a printmaking extravaganza! Each student had a chance to print as many as they wanted to with white and color inks to create cool artworks plus, holiday gifts. I think the prints would make a neat postcard as well. The whole project turned out to be really fun and students had an excellent time. It was a great way to practice printmaking and learn about local art history by adding in a quick video about the Folly Cove Designers. I will defiantly continue to teach this project!
