Whale & Ocean Art with 4th grade

Fourth grade students started this mixed media project by learning how to create different values with pencil and how to use proportion to draw a large whale. Next, they blended cool colors on a painted paper background.  For the ocean, we layered ripped stripes of the painted paper with blue paper.  Everyone did an excellent job!
