<< Pointillism with Kindergarten >>
A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte
by Georges Seurat
1884
Kindergarten is studying Pointillism using "A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte" as an Art History example. We were Art Detectives studying the painting with magnifying glasses to see how Seurat created colors and shapes using dots. This week, we practiced those dots using the techniques we learned from the book Joining the Dots: The Art of Seurat. Next week, they will create an original artwork using Pointillism.
