Creating Skeleton Retablos with Mrs. Geraghty's 5th grade

On Thursday, we started our Fall lesson of Skeleton Retablos. Using the traditional Mexican Folk Art as an example, each student brought in found object materials to create their skeleton and box (retablo).  During the next two Art classes, we will paint and assemble the retablos. Students will design the skeleton and box based on an activity of their choice such as surfing, soccer or art. One student is creating a whole Cafe scene. I am looking forward to seeing what they come up with!
